Privacy Policy

Effective October 23, 2026

The short version. Your videos, drawings, swing analysis and shot tracers stay on your iPhone. SwingKit has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't send your videos anywhere. We only receive information when you choose to send it to us, such as a support email or a diagnostics report, and we use it only to help you and improve SwingKit. We never sell it.

1. Who we are

SwingKit is made by SwingKit LLC ("we", "us"), a company based in the United States. This policy covers the SwingKit app for iPhone, including its share extension, and the website at swingkit.app. For people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@swingkit.app.

2. What stays on your iPhone

SwingKit does its work on your iPhone. The following never leaves your device unless you choose to share or save it yourself, and we can't see or access any of it:

Body position and the golfer's outline. To analyze your swing and draw shot tracers, SwingKit uses Apple's on-device frameworks to estimate where a person's joints are in each video frame and to separate the golfer from the background. This happens only on your iPhone, only to measure the swing, and the results are kept with that video in the app. SwingKit doesn't recognize faces or identify who anyone is, doesn't create biometric identifiers, and doesn't send any of this to us or anyone else.

Your iPhone may include SwingKit's data in its own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have them turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple under your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy, not by us.

3. Permissions the app asks for

SwingKit doesn't ask for your location, contacts, health data or any other access. Every permission is optional: you can still use the rest of the app without it, and you can turn it on or off at any time in the iPhone Settings app under SwingKit.

4. Information we receive

We only receive information about you in the situations below. Each one is something you choose to do.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, what you write, and anything you attach, such as screenshots or videos.

Diagnostics you share

If you tap Share Diagnostics in the app's More menu and send the report to us, we receive:

The report is never sent automatically. You see the share sheet and choose where it goes each time.

Crash reports and statistics from Apple

If you've turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how the app performs and how often it's used. Apple provides these in a form that doesn't identify you. Apple collects this information under its own privacy policy. You can turn it off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Beta testing with TestFlight

If you test a beta version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares with us the name and email address you were invited with or signed up with, your device model and iOS version, the beta builds you've installed and when you used them, crash reports, and any feedback and screenshots you submit.

Downloads and purchases

Apple handles App Store downloads and any purchases. We don't receive your payment details. Apple gives us sales and download reports that don't identify you.

Visiting swingkit.app

Our website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising or any scripts. Like every website, it is delivered by a hosting provider: Cloudflare processes the technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use this information to identify you.

5. How we use it

We don't use your information for advertising or marketing, we don't build profiles about you, and we don't send it to third-party AI services. We won't use any video you send us to develop or train SwingKit's features unless you separately and explicitly agree to that.

Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland). We use information you send us to respond to your request and provide the service you asked for. We rely on our legitimate interests to fix and improve SwingKit and keep our services secure; these interests don't override your rights, because we receive only what you choose to send and use it only for these purposes. Where we ask for your consent, such as before using a video you sent us, you can withdraw it at any time. We also process information where the law requires us to.

6. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the service providers that help us run SwingKit, and only as they need it to do that:

These providers process information under contracts that require them to protect it at least as well as this policy does and as the App Store requires, and not to use it for their own purposes. Their own privacy policies are at policies.google.com/privacy, cloudflare.com/privacypolicy and apple.com/legal/privacy.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid court order, or when it's needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights. If SwingKit is ever sold or merged into another business, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. The new owner will have to follow this policy, or tell you and give you a choice before using your information in a materially different way.

7. How long we keep it

We may keep information longer if the law requires us to, or if we need it to resolve a dispute.

8. Your choices and how to delete your data

9. Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what information we have about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us to stop using it. Email support@swingkit.app. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address the information is linked to. We'll respond within 30 days. If we need more time, which the law allows in some cases, we'll tell you why. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

EEA, UK and Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, delete and receive a portable copy of your personal data; to restrict or object to how we use it, including where we rely on legitimate interests; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (EEA authorities, the UK's ICO, or Switzerland's FDPIC), but please contact us first so we can try to help. SwingKit doesn't make decisions about you based only on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Its swing scores are calculated on your iPhone for your own use.

California and other US states. Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you the rights to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or profiling. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising and don't profile you, so there's nothing to opt out of. The personal information we may have is limited to what's described in section 4: identifiers and contact details such as your name and email address, the contents of messages you send us, device information, and app diagnostics. We don't collect sensitive personal information, consumer health data or biometric identifiers. You may use an authorized agent to make a request; we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we'll review it and respond within the time your state's law requires.

10. Tracking, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

SwingKit doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and doesn't use Apple's advertising identifier. Our website has no cookies or analytics, and no third party is allowed to collect information about your activity over time through SwingKit or swingkit.app. Because there's no tracking, browser signals like Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control don't change anything about how our website works. If we ever add anything they would apply to, we'll honor them.

11. Children

SwingKit isn't directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. The app itself doesn't collect anyone's personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example in a support email, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Security

Data in SwingKit on your iPhone is protected by iOS, including the encryption that comes with your device passcode. Email to us is handled by Google Workspace, and our website is only available over encrypted HTTPS connections. Only we can access information sent to us. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

13. Where your information is processed

We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the US and other countries. If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, transfers of your personal data to the US are protected by the safeguards our providers offer, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, such as collecting a new kind of information, we'll also let you know in the app or on this website before it takes effect, and we'll ask for your consent where the law requires it.
